PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) - Officials have announced plans for a new $130 million wood pellet facility that will create more than 35 jobs in Pine Bluff.
Highland Pellets LLC says groundbreaking is expected in October for the plant, with deliveries scheduled to begin in March 2016.
The plant will produce wood pellets, which can be used as an alternative fuel source.
Last month, another company announced plans for a wood pellet facility in Arkansas. Zilkha Biomass Energy LLC says it will build a plant in Monticello, creating 52 jobs.
