HARMONY, Pa. (AP) - A coroner was trying to determine whether a western Pennsylvania woman found dead in a car that went over an embankment on Interstate 79 died from the crash or from another medical condition.

Jackson Township police say the woman found dead about 8 a.m. Tuesday was 66-year-old Sharon Petrich, of Cranberry Township.

Police believe Petrich’s car may have crashed hours before it was spotted by another motorist at the bottom of a 350-foot embankment near the interstate. Police say she was traveling north on Route 19 when she went through a guiderail near the entrance to I-79 and down over the hillside.

The Butler County coroner didn’t immediately return a call for comment Wednesday on findings from an autopsy.
