NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - Western Nebraska authorities say a man whose body was found near a parking lot of a fast-food restaurant in North Platte died of natural causes.

The North Platte Police Department on Wednesday identified the man as 57-year-old Mitchell Freeman, of Roseburg, Oregon.

His body was found around 9:30 p.m. Sunday near a van with Oregon license plates that was sitting behind a McDonald’s parking lot. A man walking by the van saw the body, went inside the restaurant and told workers what he’d seen.

Police say Freeman appeared to have been living in the van.
