HOWELL, Mich. (AP) - A Howell woman accused of being drunk when she sideswiped a police cruiser has reached a plea deal in the case.
The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus says Sarah Marae Robson pleaded no contest Thursday to operating under the influence of alcohol.
The 27-year-old also entered a plea to failing to stop after a collision and failing to use due care when passing a stationary emergency vehicle.
Robson faces up to six months in the county jail when she’s sentenced Oct. 1.
According to police, a Hamburg Township officer was seated inside his patrol car last month, processing a motorist’s driver’s license information, when Robson’s car struck his. The officer wasn’t hurt.
Township Police Chief Rick Duffany tells WHMI-FM the officer’s vehicle was drivable despite significant front-end damage.
