Suge Knight was reportedly shot six times during a pre-VMA party hosted by Chris Brown in West Hollywood Sunday morning.

Shots rang out about 1:30 a.m. at 1OAK nightclub, where Chris Brown was reportedly hosting a party in the run-up to Sunday’s Video Music Awards.

Mr. Knight was shot six times in the stomach, arm and other areas, and he is expected to recover, family sources told TMZ.

Two women were also reportedly injured, and one is in critical condition.

Tyson Beckford, Robert Ri’chard and Apple de Ap told TMZ they were inside the club when they heard four gunshots.

Knight reportedly walked out of the club with his injuries when a police officer called an ambulance to take him to a local hospital.

Billboard reported that this is the second time Knight has been shot at a pre-VMA party. In 2002 he was shot in the leg at a party hosted by Kanye West in Miami.

Chris Brown took to Twitter Sunday morning to express his disappointment in the violence.

“It’s disappointing that we as a society can’t have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bull[expletive]!!!” he wrote.

The shooter is still unknown and an investigation is ongoing, police said. Police would not confirm the identity of any of the victims.
