PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - An Aloha, Oregon, man accused of conning prospective McMinnville apartment renters out of $10,000 in cash has been arrested.

The Oregonian reports (https://is.gd/DtozaV ) 54-year-old Jerry D. Rosenstiel was arrested Tuesday after he failed to appear for an arraignment in Yamhill County Circuit Court.

Rosenstiel faces charges of negotiating a bad check, identity theft and forgery in one case and aggravated theft in another.

Washington County Sheriff’s deputies and U.S. Marshals arrested him in Washington County.

Police say he posed as a landlord of vacant rental property in McMinnville in August 2013 to collect money. He was arrested in connection with the alleged scam that same month.
