PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Gov. Dennis Daugaard’s office has chosen the city of Faulkton to serve as South Dakota’s capital for one day next month.

The city of about 750 people will be the state’s honorary capital on September 23.

The governor will tour the city’s main street and businesses. He will also hold a social hour with the public and hold a meeting for community leaders.

Mayor Slade Roseland says he’s excited to show the city’s progress to the governor.
