HURRICANE, Utah (AP) - Southern Utah prosecutors won’t file criminal charges against a Hurricane woman whose daughter died after she left the child in a hot car.

Prosecutors say April Suwyn thought 11-month-old Skyah Suwyn was napping at home when she left her in the car Aug 1.

In a statement released Wednesday, the Washington County Attorney said April Suwyn was an otherwise thoughtful, loving mother who was operating under a lack of sleep, changed routine and stress.

Skyah Suwyn died of hyperthermia after she was left in the car for about two hours. The outside temperature was about 90 when she was discovered.

The family could not immediately be reached Wednesday, but sister Aimee Wright has said April Suwyn, accepts blame for her daughter’s death.
