MILWAUKEE (AP) - The White House says President Barack Obama will travel to Milwaukee on Monday to speak at a Labor Day event. It gave no specifics about the event.

A spokesman for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke said she will attend Laborfest on Monday. Spokesman Joe Zepecki had no other details about whether Obama and Burke would share the stage.

The Wisconsin governor’s race is one of the most watched in the country, as Gov. Scott Walker seeks a second term after surviving a recall election. Walker, who rose to national prominence after effectively ending collective bargaining for most public workers, is also eyeing a run for president in 2016.

Two months from the election, polls show Burke in a dead heat with Walker.
