TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Supreme Court is upholding a rate increase by the state’s largest utility.
The court ruled Tuesday that the Public Service Commission didn’t err when it reached a settlement with Florida Power & Light on a rate increase. Since the agreement the typical customer’s bill has gone up just under $5 a month, but FPL spokesman Mark Bubriski said bills will drop by about $2 a month beginning in January.
The rate increase was approved two years ago. FPL has roughly 4.6 million customers.
