CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 12-year-old boy who recently moved to the U.S. from Bangladesh was killed when he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle across a suburban Buffalo street.
Police in the town of Cheektowaga tell local media that Mustoba Rafid was learning to ride his bike around noon Monday with an older brother when he crossed a busy intersection near their home.
Officers say the boy’s bike was hit by a car, then was struck by a second vehicle making a turn at the intersection. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say the boy who moved to the Buffalo area from Bangladesh two months ago.
No charges have been filed against the drivers.
