TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - A rural Terre Haute man has pleaded guilty to murder and burglary charges in connection with the slaying of a 65-year-old female neighbor.
Thirty-two-year-old Matthew Cook entered the plea Tuesday in Vigo Superior Court.
Shirley Moyer was found dead last October in her mobile home at Gaslight Estates. Authorities say Cook resided near Moyer in a mobile home park south of Terre Haute.
WTHI-TV and the Tribune-Star report a plea agreement calls for Cook serve 45 years in prison on the murder charge and 10 additional years on the burglary charge. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 2.
