Russian citizens are not happy with President Vladimir Putin’s decision to ban imported goods from nations that have imposed sanctions on the regime, namely American whiskey and French wine.

“Saying goodbye to American whiskey,” Alex Fletch tweeted with a picture of a Jack Daniel’s bottle, National Journal reported Wednesday.

“Pray now that your favorite Putin didn’t ban your favorite whiskey,” user @marchukaite tweeted.

The economic tug of war between Mr. Putin and the international community includes the United States, all E.U. member states, Canada, Australia and Japan. Sanctions were imposed upon Russia for its military intervention and annexation of Crimea, as well as its destabilization of eastern Ukraine.

Mr. Putin ordered Russian lawmakers Monday to identify goods by member states connected with sanctions against the regime and then ban them for one year, National Journal reported.
