CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A St. Albans woman will spend up to 70 years in prison after pleading guilty to killing her mother.

Media outlets report that 36-year-old Jessica Lee Woods admitted Wednesday during a plea hearing to strangling her mother, 59-year-old Eva Linda Woods, on Feb. 10. Woods told Kanawha County Circuit Judge Duke Bloom that she hid her mother’s body in a shed.

Woods pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, hiding a body, conspiracy and fraudulent use of an access device. She also pleaded guilty to an unrelated breaking and entering charge.

Under a plea agreement, Woods agreed to serve the maximum sentence for each crime.

Woods’ co-defendant, 31-year-old Shawn Legg, is serving a three-year sentence after pleading guilty in November to being an accessory after the fact.
