HONOLULU (AP) - The Honolulu Board of Water Supply is giving 120 people a rare chance to go fishing at the Nuuanu Reservoir.
The agency says Saturday’s event will be the first time since 2009 that the public has been allowed to fish at the site.
Those who will get to cast their lines at reservoir No. 4 were randomly chosen out of 1,400 applicants in a lottery drawing.
Removing fish from the reservoir is part of preparations for an improvement project slated to begin in the middle of next year.
Because of the number of applicants, officials are considering holding additional fishing days at Nuuanu Reservoir No. 4.
