SAN DIEGO (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a 73-year-old woman from San Diego County has admitted that she took part in the rental of a warehouse where a cross-border drug tunnel was found.
The U.S. attorney’s office says Glennys Rodriguez of Chula Vista pleaded guilty Thursday to conspiracy to launder drug proceeds.
She admitted helping to arrange the rental of the warehouse and said she knew it would be used for illegal purposes.
She was arrested in April when two drug-smuggling tunnels were discovered with rail systems stretching hundreds of yards across the U.S.-Mexico border.
The tunnels linked warehouses in Tijuana, Mexico, and the Otay Mesa area of San Diego.
Rodriguez is scheduled to be sentenced in February. The crimes carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
