FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The owners of the only toll bridge between Fargo and Moorhead, Minnesota, have filed an appeal with the North Dakota Supreme Court over ownership of the structure.
A district court judge recently awarded ownership of the bridge to the cities of Fargo and Moorhead, after a 25-year lease agreement between the so-called Bridge Company and the cities expired.
Owners argued that the bridge was still in debt and had a right to an extension to recoup losses before giving it up.
Bridge Company attorney Randolph Stefanson tells KFGO radio he’s also filed a motion asking the district court to delay its order last month to turn over the bridge within 10 days.
