ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) - A 71-year-old Rockford man has been sentenced to three years in prison for sexually abusing a child in 2007.
The Rockford Register Star reports (https://bit.ly/1yGgED9 ) a Winnebago County state’s attorney said Thursday that Richard McClung was sentenced for aggravated sexual abuse of a child on Wednesday. He was arrested in 2011 after a girl told authorities that McClung had sexually abused her when she was 8 years old.
A jury found McClung not guilty of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child in September but found him guilty of the lesser charge.
McClung had previously been convicted for the 2006 criminal sexual abuse of a 6-year-old girl and was sentenced to probation and counseling.
