A spinal condition that prevents Marcus Hubbard from using his arms hasn’t exempted him from gun possession charges in New Jersey.

Mr. Hubbard was in a car with three other men in August when authorities found a stolen gun. All of the individuals within the car were charged when no one took responsibility for the weapon, The Times reported Tuesday.

Caroline Turner, the lawyer for Mr. Hubbard said her client’s case “shocks the conscience.”

Mr. Hubbard has been jailed since August, but a state judge agreed to lower his bail on Tuesday from $100,000 to $35,000, the newspaper reported.
