HONOLULU (AP) - The death of a newborn infant last month in a Waikiki hotel has been ruled a homicide.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser (https://bit.ly/1r7TlEs) reports the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office concluded the child died of asphyxia, or lack of oxygen.
The medical examiner says the baby girl was born alive and at full term.
The baby was found dead Nov. 26. The baby’s mother, a 32-year-old Korean national visiting Hawaii with her husband, was arrested but released Nov. 28.
Korean Deputy Consul General Sung-Soo Kim would not release whether the woman remains on Oahu.
