INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A top adviser to Gov. Mike Pence has resigned to take a job at the University of Texas.

Pence announced Friday that he had accepted the resignation of Ryan Streeter, who is leaving his position as deputy chief of staff of policy and strategy to become director of the Center for Politics and Governance at the University of Texas.

Streeter previously served in various roles in the private and public sectors, including as special assistant to President George W. Bush. Pence said that over the past two years Streeter had been critical in developing many major agenda items.
