Future chairman of the Senate Arms Services Committee Sen. John McCain says the continued sequestration cuts are destroying the United States military.

TellDC and The Washington Times caught up with Mr. McCain at the Foreign Policy Initiative at the Newseum in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.

“They are destroying the military. That’s the words of the chief of staff of the Army and the commandant of the Marine Corp. It’s doing irreparable damage to the ability to defend this nation,” he said.

The Arizona Republican commented on the automated budget cuts and how they threaten U.S. national security.
