BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (AP) - Police in Barboursville say three people have died after a wrong-way driver on Interstate 64 struck another vehicle.

Police Chief Mike Coffey says the head-on crash occurred about 1 a.m. Friday in the westbound lanes near the Huntington Mall exit.

Coffey tells The Herald-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/12s5gRQ) that a woman entered the interstate in the wrong direction and struck an oncoming car. Coffey says both drivers and a passenger in one vehicle died.

Coffey identified the wrong-way driver as Kimberly Insco of Barboursville. The victims in the other car were driver Samantha Julian of Williamsburg, Virginia, and passenger Juventino Ramirez of Guatemala.

Coffey says the impact threw engine and transmission parts in a 100-foot radius.

The interstate reopened about 7 a.m.
