FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) - The Fond du Lac Police Department has disciplined five officers after one officer’s wife exposed her husband’s affair with a fellow officer via a Valentine’s Day Facebook post.
The details are in a 324-page report made public this week after Action Reporter Media (https://fondul.ac/1s2RQTf ) went to court to seek its release.
The Fond du Lac Police Department investigated allegations surrounding three extramarital affairs involving five police officers. The report says the investigation started after one officer’s wife posted news of her husband’s alleged infidelity online after she found a Valentine’s Day card signed by another officer and a receipt for jewelry inside his truck.
Four of the officers have resigned from the department, while one remains employed there. All five sued to block release of the report to the media.
