SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) - A Springfield man has been arrested by Oregon State Police in a DUII related injury crash.

29-year-old Jason Gibbs was arrested on charges of DUII, two counts of assault III, reckless driving, and two counts of reckless endangering related to the Friday crash in Springfield.

Officials say Gibbs attempted to pass another car on a corner while an on-coming car was approaching. Gibbs came back into his lane, crashed into the car in front of him, then rolled over onto the middle of the road. The car he crashed into collided with a power pole.

18-year-old Ryan Mullins of Cottage Grove, Gibbs‘ passenger, was ejected during the crash. He was transported to Sacred Heart at Riverbend with critical injuries.

Gibbs and the driver of the other car sustained minor injuries.
