MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Help wanted signs are another indication that a new tourist season is gearing up in South Carolina.

The Governor’s Conference on Tourism and Travel gets underway on Hilton Head Island on Monday, but there are already help wanted signs out on the Grand Strand seeking summer help.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports (https://bit.ly/1iQpyHU ) that two Grand Strand job fairs are scheduled during the next week.

NASCAR SpeedPark in Myrtle Beach will be looking for 75 workers at its annual job fair Saturday. On Feb. 17, Ocean Lakes Family Campground holds a job fair looking for about 150 workers.

Parks, Recreation and Tourism Director Duane Parrish said tourism now means about $18 billion to the South Carolina economy.
