ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta court officials say cases will be rescheduled because of bad weather.

City of Atlanta officials said in a release that the Municipal Court of Atlanta would be closed Tuesday because of a winter storm that’s approaching the region.

Defendants will be notified of new court dates by mail. Court officials say defendants whose addresses are different from what’s listed on their driver’s licenses should contact the court.

The Atlanta Judicial Circuit will also be closed Tuesday. Officials have asked jurors not to report and said all trials will be rescheduled.

Rain and snow have been forecast for Tuesday, followed by sleet and freezing rain on Wednesday. Officials have said ice accumulations could lead to downed power lines, tree limbs and slippery roads.
