WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware State police say a Townsend man has been charged with vehicular homicide in a two-vehicle crash in Townsend.

Twenty-two-year-old Maurice Dawkins was charged last week in the crash that killed 51-year-old Allan Cunha of Elkton, Md.

Troopers say Dawkins driving south on Interstate 495 on July 24. Police say when Dawkins‘ car changed lanes, the rear of his vehicle hit the front of a truck driven by Cunha.

Investigators say the collision caused both vehicles to leave the road and go down an embankment. The truck overturned and hit a tree. Police say Dawkins‘ car stayed upright.

Cunha was pronounced dead at the scene. Dawkins and a passenger in his car were not hurt.
