HELENA, Mont. (AP) - Montana guard/forward Kareem Jamar shares this week’s Big Sky Conference men’s basketball player of the week honor with Joel Bolomboy of Weber State.

Jamar, a senior from Venice, Calif., averaged 20.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and two assists per game as Montana beat Montana State, Portland State and Eastern Washington last week.

Jamar had 20 points and 10 rebounds in the 70-66 win at MSU. He had 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists in Montana’s 82-76 win over Portland State and added 23 points and six rebounds in an 82-77 win over Eastern Washington.

In the EWU game, Jamar became the 32nd Big Sky Conference player to score 1,500 career points. He now has 1,519 points putting him in sixth on Montana’s all-time list, passing his coach Wayne Tinkle, who scored 1,500 points from 1985-89.

Bolomboy averaged 16 points and 11.5 rebounds as the Wildcats beat North Dakota and Northern Colorado.
