ST. ALBANS, Vt. (AP) - St. Albans police say a 24-year-old woman is facing charges she left her 3-year-old child alone in an apartment in the northwestern Vermont city.
Police say they were called to a Lake Street apartment at about 1 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report the girl was alone.
Police say Ashley Langlois returned to the apartment about 20 minutes later.
Police say Langlois was extremely intoxicated, tried to hit her boyfriend with a glass candle and she became combative and disorderly when police tried to arrest her.
Langlois was charged with cruelty to a child, domestic assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The child was placed with a grandparent.
It’s unclear if Langlois has an attorney.
