ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia Tech’s home game against Boston College will be played as scheduled on Wednesday night even though the school is advising fans to attend only if they can walk to the game.

Georgia Tech says it “strongly discourages” fans to come if they are not within safe walking distance of McCamish Pavilion. A winter storm is expected to bring snow and ice to Atlanta on Wednesday.

Atlantic Coast Conference policy states a game should be postponed or canceled only if the conditions affect the safety of the teams or game officials. The Boston College team arrived in Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon.

Georgia Tech says the officials and essential game personnel also are available.

There will be no admission charge for Georgia Tech students, faculty and staff.
