LAVERKIN, Utah (AP) - A Washington County deputy is on leave after authorities say he rolled his police vehicle while under the influence.

Authorities say Lt. Jason Lynn Adams was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Sunday after crashing his unmarked Ford F-150 on highway 17 near LaVerkin. Neither he nor his four children, who were passengers, had more than minor injuries.

The 39-year-old Adams was booked in jail on suspicion of driving while under the influence with a child in the vehicle, possessing of a firearm while under the influence, and making an unsafe lane change.

Jail records show he was released after posting bail.

Washington County Sheriff Cory Pulsipher says Adams will remain on leave pending an investigation by the Utah Highway Patrol and the sheriff.

A message left for Adams wasn’t immediately returned.
