MIDDLETOWN, N.J. (AP) - The approaching winter storm has forced Gov. Chris Christie to postpone a town hall meeting he had planned for a Monmouth County town.

The event in Middletown Township on Thursday would have been the governor’s first town hall since questions arose about lane closures near the George Washington Bridge last September, which apparently were politically motivated. It will now be held Tuesday morning.

State officials also postponed a scheduled hearing on New Jersey’s plan to spend the next $1.4 billion in aid to recover from Superstorm Sandy. The session that was to be held Thursday will now be held Feb. 21 at Brookdale Community College in Middletown.
