SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. (AP) - A Spokane County sheriff’s deputy who was at the scene of a Spokane Valley burglary could only watch early Tuesday as a car rear-ended his parked patrol car.

The sheriff’s office says when the deputy talked to the driver, the 30-year-old man explained, “I am drunk.”

He was arrested by the Washington State Patrol.
