ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Three experts with the state forensic laboratory will be honored for their work in the case of an Arizona fugitive convicted of killing a retired Oklahoma couple while on the run.

Lab employees Bonnie Knoll, Carrie Davis and Katharina Babcock will be recognized by federal prosecutors during a ceremony Wednesday in Albuquerque.

Officials say the ceremony is held annually to recognize federal, state, tribal and local law enforcement officers and citizens for their efforts during the past year.

In a lengthy trial last year, jurors convicted John McCluskey of killing Gary and Linda Haas of Oklahoma after he and two fellow fugitives carjacked the couple at a rest stop in eastern New Mexico.

McCluskey is facing a sentence of life in prison for the August 2010 slayings.
