VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) - The University of South Dakota School of Law has announced it will be hosting a symposium on how to facilitate access to attorneys to people living in rural areas.
South Dakota Chief Justice David Gilbertson is scheduled to be the keynote speaker.
Panel discussions are expected to address the challenges faced by attorneys and legal consultants practicing in rural communities, as well as the state’s rural lawyer recruitment legislation.
The school says estimates show 51 million Americans live in rural areas.
The symposium is scheduled for next month in Vermillion.
