LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say several people were injured in a shooting at a wedding reception in central Las Vegas, but the injuries didn’t appear to be life-threatening.

Lt. Patricia Spencer tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal (https://bit.ly/1f36x6B) that guests were celebrating late Saturday night at a banquet hall when an argument erupted and a man opened fire.

She says several attendees were injured but she didn’t know the exact number. While the injuries were serious, she says “it looks like everyone will survive.”

Spencer says the shooter was “basically beaten” by other guests until patrol officers arrived and arrested him.

The police gang unit continued to investigate the shooting on Sunday morning. Spencer says that although it wasn’t a gang-motivated shooting, several people at the reception had gang affiliations.

The suspect’s name wasn’t immediately released.
