OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Oxford police chief Joey East says Mississippi linebackers Denzel Nkemdiche and Serderius Bryant were arrested in separate incidents over the past weekend.

East says Nkemdiche was charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace around midnight on Saturday. Bryant was charged with public drunkenness and disturbing the peace early Sunday. All the charges are misdemeanors.

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said in a statement that the school is “aware of the incidents and gathering facts.” He says the players are the suspended until they know more about what happened.

Bryant led the Rebels with 78 tackles last season, including 12½ for a loss. Nkemdiche was one of the most productive freshmen in the SEC in 2012, but struggled with injuries as a sophomore, finishing last season with 35 tackles.
