MIDVALE, Utah (AP) - Police say an elderly Midvale couple apparently died partly from exposure to the cold after losing power to their home.

Investigators say 79-year-old Howard Durrant and 87-year-old Sharrell Sund were found dead inside their home Friday night.

Family members notified police after they were unable to contact the couple for a few weeks.

Police say there was no power in the home when the bodies were found, and an autopsy showed they apparently died from a combination of natural causes and conditions related to the cold.

Unified police Lt. Justin Hoyal says it appears a lack of heat was a factor in the deaths.

Police are investigating why the home lost power. Rocky Mountain Power says it does not discuss personal accounts.
