PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A Florida Panhandle man has been convicted of fatally shooting a teen during a home invasion.

An Escambia County jury found Bennie Robbins III guilty Thursday of first-degree felony murder, grand theft auto, cocaine possession and resisting an officer without violence. He faces life in prison at his March 24 sentencing.

Authorities say Robbins killed 19-year-old Matthew Cox during a robbery at the teen’s Pensacola home in July of 2012.

The Pensacola News Journal (https://goo.gl/3Rtq3U ) reports that investigators found Robbins in possession of the pistol used to kill Cox, and found his DNA inside of a blue knit cap witnesses said the gunman wore during the crime.
