COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - A 31-year-old Harlan man who shot a woman and her infant son in Council Bluffs has been given 25 years in an Iowa prison.

The Daily Nonpareil says (https://bit.ly/1fF5EfL ) Ronald Farr was sentenced on Thursday after making a plea agreement on charges of attempted murder and willful injury.

Prosecutors say Farr shot Heather Wilson eight times on Feb. 22 in a parking lot outside Wilson’s apartment as she was putting her children into her car. One of the bullets went through Wilson and struck her 19-month-old son. The two eventually recovered after being hospitalized in nearby Omaha, Neb. Wilson’s 4-year-old daughter wasn’t hurt.

Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a money dispute involving the father of Wilson’s children.
