UNION, Mo. (AP) - Franklin County authorities are investigating a rash of burglaries and thefts, crimes apparently being committed by people seeking money to buy more illegal drugs.

KMOX Radio (https://cbsloc.al/1gQVBrZ ) reports that 14 arrests have already been made in the eastern Missouri county. Sheriff Gary Toelke says that thieves have even stolen urns out of cemeteries to scrap and sell for drug money.

In some cases, thieves are knocking on doors and asking for directions or say they are looking for a lost dog.
