WALSENBURG, Colo. (AP) - Police say they have arrested a 16-year-old in an investigation of a possible threat against students at a high school in Walsenburg.

KRDO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1e1CCun) that police say the suspect is a former student at John Mall High School.

Huerfano School District RE-1 says that while the threat was not considered imminent, it implemented a modified lockout for weekend practices and other approved student meetings at the school.

The Huerfano County school district says it has assembled an emergency response team of school district staff who are working with law enforcement to stay up to date on the case and whether any additional safety precautions might be necessary.

No additional information about the teen arrested or the nature of the alleged threat have been released.
