BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Edwin Evers carried a slim lead over first-round leader Randall Tharp into the final round of the Bassmaster Classic.

Evers‘ two-day total on Lake Guntersville was 47 pounds, 6 ounces. The Talala, Okla., resident was in second place after the first round, and moved one ounce ahead of Tharp of Port St. Joe, Fla.

The whole Top-5 was shuffled. Ott DeFoe moved from 11th to third, about four pounds behind. Jason Christie climbed from seventh to fourth and Paul Mueller jumped from 47th to fifth.

The Top 25 advanced to compete for the $300,000 prize on Sunday.

The cutline fell at 34-2, the two-day weight posted by Keith Combs of Huntington, Texas.

Evers and Tharp are both seeking their first Classic title.
