BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio (AP) - Police have made an arrest in an Ohio hit-and-run crash that killed a U.S. Marine from Virginia.

Police arrested 26-year-old Holly Fowler of Urbana on Saturday night on felony charges of failure to stop after an accident and tampering with evidence.

It’s unclear whether Fowler has an attorney. She’s being held in Logan County jail.

The Dayton Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1dky1iN) that police say Fowler admitted responsibility for hitting 34-year-old Monica Plank of Stafford, Va., on Feb. 16 as she walked from a restaurant in Bellefontaine (behl-FOWN’-tihn), northwest of Columbus.

Police say damage on Fowler’s car is consistent with evidence at the scene.

A funeral was held Saturday in West Liberty for Plank, who was married to a fellow Marine gunnery sergeant. They were in Bellefontaine to visit family.
