CAMBRIDGE, Ohio (AP) - An Ohio man accused of raping and killing a pizza delivery driver has been indicted by a grand jury on charges that could carry a death sentence.

The Zanesville Times Recorder reports (https://ohne.ws/1mp0fPl) that Adam Charles Burris was indicted Friday on two counts of aggravated murder and one count each of rape, kidnapping, and aggravated robbery, among others.

Authorities say 26-year-old Kayla Thompson of Cambridge, about 80 miles east of Columbus, didn’t return from a delivery to Burris‘ home the day after Christmas.

The sheriff says the 32-year-old Burris was later taken into custody and led authorities to Thompson’s body near a boat ramp at Dillon State Park in neighboring Muskingum County.

Burris‘ attorney, Andy Warhola, did not respond to requests for comment Sunday.
