CORINTH, Miss. (AP) - The annual Corinth home and garden tour has been set for April 4-5.

Tour chairwoman Laura Albright told The Daily Corinthian (https://bit.ly/1p3GejD) that the sixth annual event will be from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in downtown Corinth and includes three cottages.

The home tour is the primary fundraiser for the Friends of the Verandah-Curlee House.

In five years, the group has donated $72,000 to help restore the historic house, a Greek revival design built in1857 and used during the Civil War as headquarters for Confederate Gen. Braxton Bragg.

“Our goal this year is $18,000,” Albright said. “That would put our total in donations at $100,000 generated from this great event.”

The house is in the middle of a $2 million renovation.

The Siege and Battle of Corinth Commission is planning to offer the public an opportunity to see the progress of the renovation during a special opening during the home tour.
