MESA, Ariz. (AP) - A 20-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a 54-year-old Mesa man.

Mesa police announced Monday that Judith Elaine Walthers was booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of Kevin Worzalla.

Police say she’s also facing charges of burglary, trafficking in stolen property, tampering with physical evidence and theft of means of transportation.

Worzalla’s family told police on Feb. 4 that he hadn’t been heard from for a week and asked them to conduct a welfare check.

Officers found Worzalla dead inside with signs of trauma. Police say his vehicle and other property were missing from his apartment.

Police say Walthers had been staying with Worzalla and her DNA was found on bloody items located at the crime scene.
