SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - A former Adams County Drug Court official has been sentenced to 30 days in jail after pleading guilty to drug charges.

The Quincy Herald-Whig reports (https://bit.ly/1hroI3y) that 60-year-old John Grotts was sentenced Monday. He also was given three years of supervised release and 200 hours of community service. Grotts previously admitted to maintaining a drug-involved premises in Ursa in western Illinois. He was arrested in April.

Grotts was the Probation Department’s representative to the drug court. He was later fired.

Grotts and 36-year-old Devin C. Lawton were arrested April 26 after an investigation by the West Central Illinois Task Force.

Lawton pleaded guilty in July to possession of methamphetamines. Because it was her third felony conviction, she was sentenced to seven years in prison.
