MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A 24-year-old man accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend in Mobile and fleeing to Georgia has pleaded guilty to felony murder.

AL.com reports (https://bit.ly/1msVcxs ) Mario Davis entered his plea Monday in the death of 25-year-old Christy Golston, the mother of his two children. The day before she was shot, Golston petitioned a judge for court-ordered protection from abuse against Davis and had a domestic violence charge pending against him in Mobile Municipal Court.

Authorities have said the woman was shot in her West Mobile apartment on July 17, 2012 and Davis fled the state in her car. He was arrested by U.S. Marshals and state police after a high-speed chase, a crash and a fight with officers.
